Dear Friends,
We were deeply saddened to learn of the great loss of lives and extensive damage caused by the sudden and deadly earthquake in Sichuan province. On behalf of Esco and all our staff members in Singapore, China and elsewhere, I would like to extend our sympathies to the people of China who are affected by the earthquake in Sichuan, and our condolences to the families of the victims.
The Chinese government has mounted swift relief and rescue efforts. We are confident that China will be able to tackle the challenges ahead and that the affected region will return to normalcy in the shortest possible time. At the Esco Singapore office we have many staff members who are from China, and both our countries enjoy close ties and a shared cultural heritage. Thanks to Zhang Kai and many of the Esco Singapore staff who contributed, we have raised the equivalent of RMB16,000 that will be donated to assist the relief efforts through the Chinese Embassy in Singapore.
